The Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) has launched the 2025 Global Africa Hydrogen Summit in Windhoek, showcasing Namibia's leadership in green hydrogen and its potential as an investment hub. The inaugural edition of the summit established Namibia as a credible convener of dialogue and investment in Africa's green industrial revolution. With over 1,400 delegates from 65 countries attending the previous summit, significant investments and partnerships were secured, positioning Namibia at the forefront of green energy innovation. The NIPDB's strategy leading to the 2025 Summit focuses on creating an investment-friendly environment for green hydrogen, emphasizing regulatory improvements, local supply chain development, and workforce upskilling. Namibia's commitment to social and economic inclusion in the energy transition is highlighted by its ranking as the most prepared African nation for just energy transition financing. The upcoming summit aims to be more inclusive, engaging youth, SMEs, academia, and regional partners to shape Africa's role in the global green economy. The event will facilitate discussions on industrial transformation towards more complex and diversified outputs, promoting innovation and economic resilience.
