Oman and Turkey have taken a significant step towards strengthening their bilateral ties in the energy sector with the signing of a wide-ranging Memorandum of Understanding in Muscat. The agreement aims to enhance technical collaboration, boost investment flows, and support the transition to sustainable energy systems for both countries. Signed by the Ministers of Energy and Minerals from Oman and Energy and Natural Resources from Turkey, the MoU covers various areas of cooperation including oil and gas exploration, LNG trade, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and green hydrogen production. The focus on decarbonisation is evident through provisions for advancing joint projects in green hydrogen production and carbon capture technologies. Both parties have committed to sharing technical expertise, developing regulatory frameworks, and exploring innovative technologies and financing mechanisms for clean energy infrastructure. The agreement also emphasizes the organization of technical seminars and joint events to facilitate dialogue and knowledge exchange. This partnership signifies a positive step towards achieving energy sustainability and fostering collaboration in the clean energy sector.
