In a significant move focused on decarbonizing the shipping industry, a strategic partnership has been established in Japan to introduce BEH₂YDRO Infinearth hydrogen engines. The partnership involves JPNH₂YDRO, BeHydro, Daihatsu Infinearth, and Mizuno Marine. The agreement, signed in Tokyo in the presence of distinguished guests including royalty and ambassadors, aims to accelerate the deployment of hydrogen engines in Japan's ports and coastal areas. BeHydro's dual-fuel and 100% hydrogen engines, already operational in Europe, will be tailored to meet Japanese standards and supported by local services. JPNH₂YDRO will serve as the general agent for BeHydro in Japan, overseeing testing, commissioning, and delivery in collaboration with Daihatsu Infinearth. The partnership also involves technical exchanges to promote innovation. The collaboration is expected to speed up the adoption of hydrogen-powered solutions in Japan's maritime sector. Notable projects include the installation of hydrogen engines on a tugboat and the construction of a zero-emission ship. The partners are actively working towards the implementation of commercialized hydrogen engines in the shipping industry, making hydrogen technology a reality in Japan.
