AM Green, in collaboration with the Port of Rotterdam Authority, has signed a significant pact to establish a green energy supply chain connecting India and Northwestern Europe. This partnership aims to facilitate the annual trade of 1 million tonnes of green fuels valued at up to $1 billion, bridging India's emerging green hydrogen clusters with Europe's prominent energy port in Rotterdam. The memorandum of understanding includes the supply of bunkering fuels and Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAFs), along with infrastructure development in Rotterdam and across Northwestern Europe. The venture focuses on supporting the safe distribution of hydrogen-based fuels and products, fostering the export of green fuels from India to Europe. AM Green's ambitious goal is to develop 5,000,000 tonnes of Green Ammonia production capacity by 2030, starting with a green ammonia facility in Kakinada. This initiative aligns with India's National Green Hydrogen Mission and Europe's decarbonisation objectives. The CEO of the Port of Rotterdam Authority emphasized the potential of India's green hydrogen production and Rotterdam's strategic location in establishing a sustainable energy supply chain. AM Green's founder highlighted the partnership's role in advancing global decarbonisation by enabling the seamless movement of green molecules and fuels between the two regions. Additionally, AM Green is set to initiate production at its green ammonia facility in Kakinada by the second half of 2026, targeting the European export market. The company has secured offtake agreements with key buyers and is expanding its infrastructure with collaborations like DP World. This partnership signifies a pivotal step towards creating a global carbon-free energy ecosystem and accelerating industrial decarbonisation worldwide.
