- Brenmiller's TES technology will provide 56 MWh of thermal energy storage, enhancing renewable energy utilization and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
Brenmiller Energy Ltd. is set to contribute significantly to the SolWinHy Project in Arcos de la Frontera, Spain, with its bGen™ thermal energy storage (TES) system. This large-scale initiative, backed by €25 million from the European Hydrogen Bank, emphasizes green hydrogen and green e-methanol production. Led by SolWinHy Cádiz S.L., the project plans to generate 30,000 tons of green e-methanol annually through renewable electricity and captured biogenic CO₂. Operating off-grid, the facility will utilize 54 MWh of wind and 130 MWp of solar energy. The CEO of Brenmiller, Avi Brenmiller, highlighted the importance of the funding and the TES technology's role in Europe's clean energy landscape. With a focus on decarbonizing heavy industry and advanced fuel production, Brenmiller's bGen™ system, offering 56 MWh of thermal energy storage, will optimize energy usage and reduce fossil fuel dependence. This project underscores Brenmiller's growth in Europe's clean energy sector and sets the stage for future collaborations and clean energy endeavors.
