The 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, a key event in the World Endurance Championship calendar, will shine a spotlight on hydrogen-powered cars from 8 to 10 May. The MissionH24 programme, in collaboration with the Automobile Club de l’Ouest and FIA WEC Championship, has been actively promoting hydrogen since 2018 at the iconic Ardennes track. Previous editions saw the launch of the MissionH24 programme, the inauguration of TotalEnergies' mobile hydrogen station, and demonstrations of hydrogen-powered race cars like the LMPH2G and the H24. This year's event will feature a hydrogen village with a 700-bar mobile refuelling station for prototypes, showcasing vehicles like Alpine's Alpenglow Hy6 and the Toyota Gazoo Racing Yaris H2 Concept. In addition, visitors can explore hands-on activities to learn about hydrogen production and applications, including the new H24EVO presented by the MissionH24 programme. A hydrogen forum in partnership with Hydrogen Europe will focus on educating educators about hydrogen. The emphasis on hydrogen at Spa-Francorchamps underscores its importance in sustainable mobility and motorsport innovation, highlighting its potential as an emerging energy solution.
