Transmission System Operators Enagás, NaTran, and Teréga have reached a significant milestone in the H2med project by signing a Shareholders' Agreement to establish a joint venture dedicated to developing the BarMar Project of Common Interest. This project involves the creation of a renewable hydrogen pipeline connecting Barcelona, Spain, to Marseille, France, a crucial element of the European Union's clean hydrogen corridor. The agreement, following a Joint Development Agreement signed in June 2024, aims to accelerate the project's implementation, targeting 10% of Europe's hydrogen consumption by 2030. The new company, headquartered in the South of France, will have EIH-Enagás holding 50% of the shares, with NaTran and Teréga holding 33.3% and 16.7%, respectively. This ownership structure mirrors the balance between Spain and France in the overall H2med project. Mr. Francisco Pablo de la Flor from Enagás has been appointed as the CEO of the new entity. The milestone comes shortly after reaffirmed European support for the project during a meeting involving the project leaders and Ms. Teresa Ribera, the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission responsible for the Green, Just, and Competitive Transition.
