The Portuguese Government has recently given the green light to funding 17 projects focused on hydrogen and renewable gases with a total investment of €70 million. These projects, part of the REPowerEU regulation under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), aim to advance Portugal's capacity for green hydrogen production. Companies like Mota-Engil Bioenergy, Recivalongo, and Sãra Green Energy are among the beneficiaries selected through a competitive process. The selection criteria included factors like decarbonisation potential, investment efficiency, and technical capacity. Minister Maria da Graça Carvalho highlighted how Portugal's investment in clean energy contributes to the country's energy independence and innovation, aligning with the EU's climate and energy objectives.
