Toyota Motor Europe has partnered with VDL Groep to introduce hydrogen fuel cell trucks on its logistics routes in Europe, starting from Belgium and expanding to France, Germany, and the Netherlands. These heavy-duty trucks, using Toyota's fuel cell modules, offer zero tailpipe emissions while maintaining performance similar to diesel trucks, capable of traveling up to 400 km on a single refueling. By collaborating with logistics providers, Toyota aims to evaluate the operational efficiency of these trucks and work towards carbon neutrality in logistics by 2040. Additionally, this initiative supports the growth of the hydrogen economy by increasing demand for hydrogen fuel. Toyota's long-term vision includes establishing 700 bar as a standard for fuel cell electric vehicles and products.
