The Adani Group has launched India's first hydrogen-powered truck in Chhattisgarh, revolutionizing mining logistics with sustainable practices. The truck, capable of transporting 40,000kg over 200km, signifies Adani's dedication to cleaner transportation solutions. The initiative, inaugurated in Raipur by Chhattisgarh's Chief Minister, Vishnu Deo Sai, highlights a significant move towards decarbonization in the mining sector. Adani Enterprises plans to gradually replace diesel vehicles with hydrogen-powered trucks, developed in collaboration with energy technology firms and auto manufacturers. These trucks come equipped with smart technology and three hydrogen tanks for efficient cargo transport. The deployment of the hydrogen truck is focused on transporting coal from Gare Pelma III Block to a power plant in Chhattisgarh, ensuring reliable electricity generation while adhering to sustainable mining practices. The collaboration between Adani Natural Resources and Adani New Industries underpins the group's commitment to decarbonization and responsible mining. ANR will source hydrogen cells from ANIL, emphasizing a holistic approach to green energy solutions. This project not only marks a milestone in clean transportation but also sets new benchmarks for eco-friendly mining practices in India.
