Adani New Industries Limited (ANIL) has made a significant stride in India's clean energy transition by launching the country's first off-grid 5 MW Green Hydrogen Pilot Plant in Kutch, Gujarat. This pioneering plant, powered by solar energy and equipped with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), demonstrates Adani Group's commitment to innovation and sustainability. The facility, with its state-of-the-art closed-loop electrolyzer system, sets a high standard for renewable-powered hydrogen production, anticipating future green hydrogen projects in India and globally. ANIL's focus on decentralized, renewable-powered hydrogen comes in line with India's ambition to lead in green hydrogen production and decarbonize challenging sectors. The successful implementation of the pilot plant precedes the development of ANIL's massive Green Hydrogen Hub in Mundra, Gujarat, which aims to drive India's low-carbon trajectory by catering to industries like fertilizers, refining, and heavy transport. This strategic move aligns with the global imperative of achieving net-zero emissions, with green hydrogen playing a pivotal role.
