The CSIR-Structural Engineering Research Centre (CSIR-SERC) and CSIR Madras Complex (CMC) in Chennai celebrated the National Technology Day with great enthusiasm. Dr. N. Anandavalli, Director of CSIR-SERC, presided over the event, which was graced by special guests including Shri A.R. Santosh Kumar and Dr. G. Raghava. Dr. Anandavalli spoke about the significance of the day, celebrating India's technological prowess since 1999. She emphasized India's journey from being a technology adopter to an innovation leader, aligning with the year's theme YANTRA - Yugantar for Advancing New Technology, Research & Acceleration. Shri A.R. Santosh Kumar delivered a lecture on 'Integrity management of pipeline corrosion', discussing the importance of pipeline infrastructure and the impact of alternate fuels like hydrogen on corrosion. Dr. G. Raghava presented on 'Antarctica - a glimpse of the icy continent', shedding light on Indian scientific expeditions, research stations, and the significance of Antarctica for scientific research. He highlighted CSIR-SERC's potential contributions to Antarctic research. The event showcased how CSIR-SERC is at the forefront of research and innovation, bridging technological gaps and contributing to scientific progress in various domains.
