Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal launched multiple tech initiatives to digitally transform India's maritime sector, aiming to boost efficiency and productivity. The SAGAR SETU platform was inaugurated to enhance operational efficiency and ease of doing business in logistics, aligning with the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan. The Digital Centre of Excellence will provide advanced IT solutions to modernize port operations through technologies like AI and Blockchain. The 'DRISHTI' Framework was introduced to accelerate the implementation of Maritime India Vision 2030 and Amrit Kaal Vision 2047. Sonowal emphasized a commitment to modern technology for efficiency and sustainability in the maritime sector, aligning with national objectives. Additionally, a standardised Scale of Rates template for Major Ports and a report on green hydrogen transition were released, outlining strategic action areas for Indian ports to become hubs for green hydrogen production and export.
