Honda is set to make history at the 2024 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb by debuting the CR-V e:FCEV, the first-ever hydrogen-powered vehicle to participate in the iconic Race to the Clouds. This groundbreaking vehicle, based on the 2025 production model, boasts a zero-emissions setup, including a second-gen Honda fuel cell system, plug-in hybrid capability, and a 17.7 kWh battery. Despite minor race tweaks for performance, the hydrogen powertrain remains untouched. The CR-V e:FCEV, hand-assembled in Ohio at Honda's Performance Manufacturing Center, offers a range of 270 miles, 29 miles of EV-only driving, and quick hydrogen refueling. Honda's commitment to clean energy is evident as they aim for carbon neutrality by 2050. Notably, the hydrogen fueling at Pikes Peak will be facilitated by Zero Emission Industries' portable FTcase solution. This endeavor signifies another milestone in Honda's legacy of clean-energy initiatives at Pikes Peak, adding to their previous successes in the EV-class.
