Hyundai Motor India Ltd has partnered with Indian Oil Corporation Ltd to explore the potential of hydrogen fuel cell technology for the Indian mobility sector. Under a Memorandum of Understanding signed on April 22, Hyundai handed over a NEXO Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle to Indian Oil for a two-year pilot program. This program will involve testing the vehicle's performance over 40,000 kilometers under real-world driving conditions and assessing total ownership costs to understand the practical benefits of hydrogen-powered vehicles in India. The collaboration aims to showcase the role of green hydrogen in shaping sustainable mobility in India, in line with the country's clean energy objectives and the National Green Hydrogen Mission. Both companies see this partnership as an opportunity to deepen their understanding of fuel cell technology, supporting India's transition to cleaner transportation solutions.
