IndianOil has taken a significant step towards promoting clean energy in India by finalizing the Levelized Cost of Hydrogen (LCOH) for establishing a 10,000 Tonnes Per Annum Green Hydrogen Generation Unit at its Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex. This project, scheduled for commissioning by December 2027, is poised to be the largest green hydrogen initiative in India, aiming to replace fossil-derived hydrogen with green hydrogen in refinery operations. The transition is expected to lead to a substantial reduction in carbon emissions, contributing to India's sustainable and carbon-neutral future. The initiative falls in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision under the National Green Hydrogen Mission and is an integral part of IndianOil's broader decarbonization strategy and Net Zero target. The project not only highlights IndianOil's commitment to leading India towards a cleaner and greener energy future but also strengthens its position in the country's energy transformation journey. The Chairman of IndianOil mentioned substantial progress in the project during the World Economic Forum 2025, indicating that the green hydrogen plant at Panipat is on track for commissioning.
