Goyal outlined India's clean energy future vision, focusing on the entire value chain from raw materials to recycling, and stressed the crucial role of energy storage in achieving the target of 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030. He highlighted the need for collaborative efforts in developing charging networks and battery swapping systems to accelerate electric vehicle adoption. Goyal also discussed the importance of various storage technologies including batteries, pumped hydro, geothermal, and nuclear to meet the country's energy demands. He pointed out remarkable growth in India's solar capacity and introduced initiatives like PM Surya Ghar Yojana and PM-KUSUM to promote energy independence in households and agriculture. Goyal proposed a four-pronged strategy involving targeted innovation, infrastructure expansion, resilient supply chains, and comprehensive value chain development to achieve energy independence.
