India aims to produce 5 million metric tonnes of green hydrogen by 2030, requiring a substantial 211.4 GW of photovoltaic power. TERI's Director General, Vibha Dhawan, highlighted the inevitable increase in energy usage in India and the potential for transitioning to cleaner energy sources. Neha Verma from the Ministry of Steel advocated for a green public procurement policy and decarbonization roadmaps to tackle emissions from the steel industry. The Ministry of External Affairs emphasized international collaborations, particularly with the US, to accelerate the development of crucial energy technologies. At the state level, Government of Madhya Pradesh's Additional Chief Secretary, Manu Srivastava, outlined initiatives to boost rooftop solar installations in collaboration with Resident Welfare Associations, showcasing a multi-faceted approach towards sustainable energy development.
