Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis chaired a review meeting of the energy department in Mumbai, stressing the state government's priority of ensuring affordable and uninterrupted electricity supply to citizens. Fadnavis urged the energy department to expedite the completion of green energy development projects and enhance power distribution infrastructure through time-bound planning. He specifically mentioned the importance of focusing on green energy development in the upcoming years and emphasized the timely completion of projects. The Chief Minister directed the completion of flagship schemes like 'Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0' and 'PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana' by December 2025. Additionally, he called for joint efforts to develop model solar villages and ensure adherence to strict deadlines in all sectors of power generation, transmission, and distribution. Fadnavis highlighted the need to reduce transmission losses, effectively implement central schemes, and raise awareness about energy efficiency. He also instructed officials to recover pending dues from local authorities and enhance capacity to meet future electricity demand. Moreover, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of policy-driven research, development, and skill-building initiatives to foster the hydrogen energy ecosystem in the state, showcasing a commitment to embracing emerging technologies for sustainable energy solutions.
