During the Rising North East Investors Summit 2025 in New Delhi, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi praised Northeast India as the cornerstone of India's clean energy revolution, highlighting its vast renewable resources and strategic location for energy trade. The region, with significant hydropower and pumped storage potential, is set to become India's green energy gateway to Southeast Asia. Joshi announced the signing of 115 MoUs worth ₹38,856 crore to boost the renewable energy sector, fostering employment and infrastructure development. Special financial incentives, including increased budget allocation and training programs, aim to fast-track the region's transition to green energy. The Minister emphasized Northeast India's geographical advantage for cross-border electricity trade, aligning with global standards like the EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism. Industry leaders and investors were urged to invest in the region for a cleaner, self-reliant India, positioning Northeast India as a global leader in renewable energy.
