Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) in Guwahati, Assam has re-invited bids for setting up a green hydrogen generation unit at its refinery. The project will be executed on a build, own, and operate (BOO) basis, with the selected developer responsible for supplying gaseous green hydrogen (GGH) to the refinery. This decision came after changes were made to the bill of quantities (BOQ) and terms and conditions from the original tender floated in August 2024. The GHGU will have an installed capacity of 10,000 tons per annum, and the selected developer will handle the complete project lifecycle, including design, construction, testing, commissioning, and maintenance. A Green Hydrogen Purchase Agreement (GHPA) for 25 years will ensure a consistent supply of GGH. The last date for bid submission is June 23, 2025. This initiative by NRL is a significant step to integrate green hydrogen into its operations, supporting India's clean energy transition.
