The Secretary of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) in India, Santosh Kumar Sarangi, met with the Chief Secretary of Odisha, Manoj Ahuja, and other officials to discuss the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM) and PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSG: MBY). The Chief Secretary emphasized Odisha's potential to lead India's Green Hydrogen transition, citing the state's coastal location, industrial ecosystem, and supportive policies. The meeting aimed to address challenges in developing large-scale Green Hydrogen projects, especially in areas like Gopalpur. Odisha expressed its commitment to creating a conducive environment for Green Hydrogen investment. Furthermore, the discussion touched upon promoting rooftop solar adoption under PMSG: MBY, with a focus on accelerating installations and implementing models to support low-income households. The initiative also included reviewing State performance and directing District Collectors to expedite rooftop solar installations. The Chief Secretary emphasized engaging with vendors and bankers to facilitate loan disbursement and implementing Feeder Level Solarization to benefit the farming community.
