India's AM Green and the Port of Rotterdam Authority have inked an MoU to create a significant green energy supply chain linking India to Northwestern Europe. This partnership focuses on transporting environmentally-friendly fuels like green ammonia and hydrogen from India to Europe through Rotterdam, a critical energy gateway. The deal targets exporting up to one million tons of clean fuels annually by 2030, with an estimated trade value of $1 billion per year. The collaboration also includes the development of necessary infrastructure at both ends of the corridor to ensure safe handling and distribution of hydrogen-based fuels. AM Green, with plans to produce green ammonia in Kakinada at a scale of five million tons yearly by 2030, aims to connect India's net-zero industrial hubs with high-demand centers in Europe, supporting the decarbonisation efforts of both regions. Port of Rotterdam CEO praised the agreement as a crucial step in establishing a sustainable energy connection between Europe and India, emphasizing the port's role in hydrogen logistics and energy transition. The founder of AM Green highlighted India's emerging role as a global supplier of clean fuels through this alliance, contributing to the vision of an international green energy network.
