The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has extended the bid submission deadline for its Green Ammonia tender under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. The new deadline for submitting bids has been revised to June 30, providing prospective bidders with additional time to finalize their proposals. The tender, issued as part of the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) Scheme, aims to produce and supply 724,000 metric tonnes of Green Ammonia annually to 13 identified fertiliser plants in India. This initiative is aligned with India's broader efforts to decarbonize its industrial sector and reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels. Green Ammonia is recognized as a significant component in the country's clean energy transition, especially in the domain of fertiliser production. SECI, as a nodal agency under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, plays a crucial role in implementing the National Green Hydrogen Mission, which targets the production of 5 million metric tonnes of Green Hydrogen per year by 2030.
