The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has announced an extension of the deadline for companies to submit bids for its green ammonia project, pushing the date to June 30. The initiative is a part of the National Green Hydrogen Mission and aims to produce 7,24,000 metric tonnes of green ammonia annually to cater to 13 fertiliser plants in India. This extension provides companies with additional time to participate in the tender, facilitating sustainable and environmentally friendly fertilizer production. SECI will play a crucial role in managing demand, facilitating long-term agreements with green ammonia producers, and ensuring commercial certainty for a 10-year period. The project not only focuses on green ammonia production but also supports market development for green hydrogen derivatives, aligning with India's renewable energy goals and commitment to sustainability.
