The State-owned Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has announced the extension of the bid submission deadline for its green ammonia tender under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. The deadline has been moved from June 26, 2025, to June 30, 2024. This tender, issued on June 7, 2024, is part of the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) Scheme - Mode 2A, Tranche I. The primary objective of the tender is to enable the production and supply of 724,000 metric tonnes of green ammonia annually to 13 identified fertiliser plants across India. SECI, as the implementing agency, will aggregate demand and establish long-term offtake agreements with selected green ammonia producers, ensuring commercial certainty for a 10-year duration. This initiative is expected to boost market development for green hydrogen derivatives in the country, supporting the transition towards cleaner and more sustainable energy sources.
