Tata Steel Special Economic Zone's Gopalpur Industrial Park in Odisha has partnered with the World Economic Forum's Transitioning Industrial Clusters Initiative to drive clean energy initiatives. GIP is focusing on green hydrogen and energy equipment manufacturing to contribute significantly to India's green hydrogen production target by 2030. With investments exceeding Rs 27,000 crore, GIP is dedicating a significant portion of its land for green hydrogen and ammonia production. The initiative aims to foster sustainability, energy efficiency, and green innovation while creating jobs and driving economic growth. Infrastructure development at GIP includes an exclusive utility corridor connecting to Gopalpur Port for efficient transportation of green ammonia for global exports, supporting India's goal to become a global leader in green hydrogen production.
