The Adani Group has recently inaugurated India's first off-grid 5 megawatt green hydrogen pilot plant in Kutch, Gujarat. This innovative facility utilizes electrolysis powered by renewable energy sources, primarily solar, to produce hydrogen independently of the main electrical grid. The plant, constructed by Adani New Industries Limited (ANIL), signifies a significant step towards India's National Green Hydrogen Mission. It is a state-of-the-art, green-powered system integrated with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) ensuring complete off-grid operation. The production of green hydrogen is vital in reducing carbon emissions in emissions-intensive sectors. ANIL is also focusing on large-scale production of green hydrogen derivatives like green ammonia and methanol.
