Arctech Partners with ACME for Green Hydrogen Project in Oman
Key Ideas
- Arctech has signed an agreement with ACME Cleantech Solutions to supply 175 MWp of solar trackers for a green ammonia project in Duqm, Oman.
- The project, part of a 300 MTPD green ammonia facility, will use Arctech's Skyline II system designed for harsh conditions to support a large-scale green hydrogen production facility.
- The collaboration aligns with Oman's goal of sourcing 35–39% of the country's electricity from renewables by 2040 and strengthens the country's position as a regional clean energy leader.
- The partnership between Arctech and ACME highlights Duqm's role as a hub for renewable energy innovation and underlines Arctech's contribution to industrial decarbonization through solar-hydrogen integration.
Arctech, a global leader in solar tracking, has partnered with ACME Cleantech Solutions to supply 175 MWp of solar trackers for a green ammonia project in Duqm, Oman. This project, forming part of a 300 MTPD green ammonia facility, is located in an environment with challenging conditions such as sandy soils, high wind speeds, extreme temperatures, and high solar radiation levels. Arctech will deploy its Skyline II single-axis solar tracking system, known for its durability in harsh environments. The system will support the solar infrastructure powering one of the first large-scale green hydrogen production facilities in the region. Deliveries of the trackers are set to begin in phases from July 2025. The collaboration between Arctech and ACME is seen as a crucial step in Oman's national energy strategy, which aims to source a significant portion of the country's electricity from renewables by 2040. This partnership not only solidifies Oman's position as a clean energy leader but also emphasizes Duqm's role as a central hub for renewable energy and green hydrogen development. Additionally, the collaboration underscores Arctech's global presence and its vital contribution to industrial decarbonization through the integration of solar and hydrogen technologies.
