Cadiz Inc. has inked a strategic Memorandum of Understanding with Hoku Energy Limited to establish a major clean energy campus at Cadiz Ranch in the Mojave Desert, California. The initiative, spanning more than 10,000 acres, will be dedicated to green energy solutions such as hydrogen production, renewable power generation, battery storage, and data center facilities. The partnership, projected to yield $7-$10 million in yearly lease revenue and water supply sales, aims to bolster Cadiz's current operations without disrupting ongoing activities. Building on a previous collaboration with RIC Energy for an extra 3,000 acres designated for green hydrogen production, Cadiz Ranch is poised to emerge as a prominent clean energy and hydrogen production hub in North America. Through these ambitious projects, the company anticipates substantial financial gains from lease revenues and water supply sales. Crucially, the MOU guarantees the continuation of Cadiz's existing operations, notably agricultural practices and the progress of the Mojave Groundwater Bank. Additionally, a portion of the land has been earmarked for potential commercial expansion, including the possible development of data centers, with Hoku Energy having priority access to power supply rights. Given its strategic positioning with crucial infrastructure elements like rail lines, water resources, and pipeline connectivity, Cadiz Ranch is deemed an optimal location for large-scale renewable energy and digital infrastructure endeavors. This partnership underscores Cadiz's dedication to leveraging its extensive land and water assets for sustainable energy pursuits while actively engaging in the global transition towards eco-friendly energy solutions.
