International energy consultancy Penspen has opened a new office in Aberdeen, Scotland, at the Balmoral Business Park in Altens, emphasizing its commitment to the region. This move integrates Penspen with C&I Engineering Solutions, acquired in 2024, to support energy security and transition projects. The office will house more than 200 specialist engineers and allow for future growth. Key projects from this base include engineering for the HyNet CO₂ transportation pipeline in Liverpool Bay and hydrogen gap analysis for the Trans Adriatic Pipeline. The Aberdeen site will also offer training on repurposing infrastructure for hydrogen and CO₂ capture and transmission, aligning with the UK's energy transition objectives. With a history of over 70 years and 15,000 projects globally, Penspen's workforce has expanded to over 1,200 specialists, including 200 engineers in Aberdeen, where the company has operated since the late 1980s.
