The Adani Group has successfully commissioned India's first off-grid 5 megawatt green hydrogen pilot plant in Kutch, Gujarat. This facility, powered entirely by renewable energy sources like solar, marks a significant milestone towards India's National Green Hydrogen Mission. The 5 MW plant, developed by Adani New Industries Limited (ANIL), operates independently from the main electrical grid, relying on its own solar energy generation for hydrogen production. This innovative plant is 100% green-powered and includes a Battery Energy Storage System for off-grid operation. Adani Group's pilot plant showcases the feasibility and benchmark for off-grid, renewable-powered industrial applications of green hydrogen. Green hydrogen, produced via electrolysis using renewable sources, is a key focus for ANIL, aiming to develop large-scale production facilities for green hydrogen and its derivatives like green ammonia and methanol. The pilot plant's closed-loop electrolyser system offers operational flexibility, especially in managing solar power variability.
