Adani Enterprises Ltd (AEL) has introduced India's first hydrogen fuel cell truck in a move towards promoting cleaner transportation. These trucks, developed in collaboration with Indian and international energy technology firms and a major auto manufacturer, are set to replace diesel vehicles in the company's logistics operations. Equipped with smart technology and three hydrogen tanks, each truck can transport up to 40 tonnes of cargo over a 200-kilometer range. The first truck was flagged off in Raipur by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and will be utilized for transporting coal from Gare Pelma III Block to the state's power plant. The initiative has been lauded for its focus on sustainability, with the Chief Minister emphasizing its role in reducing the carbon footprint and leading by example in adopting green practices. Adani Group's commitment to decarbonization and responsible mining is further highlighted through the incorporation of autonomous dozer push technologies, solar power utilization, digital initiatives, and tree transplanters for relocating trees. The project is part of a larger effort by Adani Enterprises to ensure affordable and reliable electricity while pioneering sustainable mining practices.
