Andhra Pradesh is gearing up to become a major player in the green hydrogen sector, with a target of 1 million metric tonnes of green hydrogen capacity by 2030. The Union Minister emphasized the need for huge investments to achieve this goal and highlighted the state policies that offer benefits to investors. The state is set to host India's largest green hydrogen hub in Visakhapatnam, capable of producing 1,500 tonnes per day along with derivatives like green ammonia and methanol. With investments worth Rs 1.85 lakh crore, Andhra Pradesh is paving the way for a green hydrogen economy. Despite the immense opportunities, challenges such as cost competitiveness, water scarcity, and infrastructure gaps remain. The minister stressed the importance of addressing these challenges to accelerate the adoption of green hydrogen. He also encouraged investors to engage in the state's integrated value chain and take advantage of proactive policies designed to overcome barriers and promote green hydrogen adoption.
