Andhra Pradesh, under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's leadership, is positioning itself at the forefront of India's clean energy transition by announcing the initiative to build a Green Hydrogen Valley. The state has crafted an Integrated Clean Energy Policy to create a supportive ecosystem for attracting green investments amounting to ₹10 lakh crore and generating 7.5 lakh job opportunities. Noteworthy developments include the signing of two MoUs at the Green Hydrogen Summit in Amaravati, with investments totaling Rs 51,000 crore. These agreements will pave the way for mega green projects, including a 1 MMTPA Green Ammonia project and a Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia project. These initiatives are expected to create over 10,500 green jobs in Andhra Pradesh. The Chief Minister highlighted the state's advantages, such as a vast coastline and logistics network, making it ideal for exporting clean energy products. Stakeholders from various sectors are urged to collaborate in transforming Andhra Pradesh into a global hydrogen innovation hub. The state's Integrated Clean Energy Policy targets the annual production of 1.5 million metric tonnes of green hydrogen and its derivatives, aligning with the National Hydrogen Mission's ambitious objectives for clean energy. Chandrababu Naidu emphasized the importance of synergy between government, technology infrastructure, and industry players to achieve scalable and profitable clean energy solutions. With a vision to lead in decarbonisation and circular economy practices, Andhra Pradesh aims to contribute significantly to India's clean energy landscape and the global fight against climate change.
