Infrastructure giant Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced plans to establish the largest green hydrogen plant in India at the Indian Oil Corporation's Panipat Refinery in Haryana. The plant, to be operated by L&T Energy GreenTech Ltd, will produce 10,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually for a period of 25 years, in alignment with the National Green Hydrogen Mission. This initiative aims to position India as a global leader in green hydrogen production and technology. The project, developed under a build-own-operate model, will run using green energy around the clock. By supplying green hydrogen to IOCL, the plant will aid in decarbonizing refining operations and support India's net zero goals. L&T's Deputy Managing Director emphasized the strategic importance of this project in driving India's energy transition and strengthening the partnership with IOCL.
