Energy distributor Filgo and hydrogen infrastructure developer Hydrolux have announced a strategic partnership to accelerate the decarbonization of Quebec’s heavy transport sector. The collaboration aims to create a network of refueling stations offering green hydrogen, advanced electric charging, and other clean energy solutions. Through a signed memorandum of understanding, the two companies will combine their expertise to build integrated, scalable infrastructure that supports the operational needs of freight fleets while promoting regional economic development. Friedrich Dehem-Lemelin, CEO of Hydrolux, highlighted that the partnership is a critical step towards establishing a resilient green hydrogen supply network across Quebec. This initiative aligns with Quebec’s 2030 Plan for a Green Economy, focusing on significant greenhouse gas reductions in transport. Wassim Kanso, Senior Director of Energy Transition at Filgo, emphasized the active role the company plays in the energy transition and the development of a sustainable ecosystem to facilitate the shift to clean fuels. The envisioned stations will serve as full-service hubs, potentially incorporating Filgo-branded convenience stores, driver amenities, and maintenance equipment, providing a comprehensive solution for transporters looking to transition to cleaner energy sources.
