Beverage company Suntory has unveiled its long-term strategy for green hydrogen, aligning with Japan's push for a hydrogen supply network. The company plans to establish a local production-and-use model in Yamanashi Prefecture, with a focus on sustainability and decarbonization. Suntory's initiatives include the Yamanashi Model Power-to-Gas project, set to be Japan's largest green hydrogen facility. They are also exploring hydrogen usage in various operational processes including whisky distillation. Additionally, Suntory aims to integrate green hydrogen across its value chain by partnering with Tomoe Shokai for logistics and distribution. In the UK, National Gas has secured funding to develop the H2FlexiStore system for underground hydrogen storage, collaborating with various organizations to create a flexible energy supply solution. This innovation is part of the shift towards sustainable energy practices and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
