Adani Enterprises Ltd (AEL) has launched India's first hydrogen fuel cell truck in Chhattisgarh to promote cleaner transportation. These hydrogen-powered trucks aim to gradually replace diesel vehicles in the company's logistics operations. Equipped with smart technology and three hydrogen tanks, each truck can carry up to 40 tonnes of cargo over a 200-kilometer range. The flagship company of the Adani Group is collaborating with Indian and international energy technology firms and a major auto manufacturer to develop these hydrogen fuel cell battery-operated trucks for cargo transport. The first truck was inaugurated in Raipur by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and will be used to transport coal from the Gare Pelma III Block to the state's power plant. The project is part of the state's commitment to sustainability and reducing carbon footprint. Adani Enterprises has been appointed as the mine developer and operator for the Gare Pelma III block, showcasing their focus on decarbonization and responsible mining practices.
