The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) has announced a $3.9 million funding opportunity to support the development of innovative maritime solutions for transporting clean hydrogen. This initiative aims to facilitate the design and operation of vessels capable of carrying significant quantities of clean hydrogen over long distances, promoting efficiency and cost reduction compared to land-based transportation. By incentivizing the creation of vessels that can transport at least 20,000 kilograms of hydrogen over 100 nautical miles, NYSERDA seeks to overcome logistical challenges and enhance operational efficiency in hydrogen distribution.
