NatPower H, a green hydrogen infrastructure developer, and HyNaval, a French shipyard specializing in hydrogen-powered ships, have agreed to collaborate on building 20 hydrogen-powered vessels by 2030. This partnership aims to innovate in maritime decarbonization by utilizing hydrogen as a clean energy source. The agreement includes NatPower H providing green hydrogen supply to HyNaval for vessel construction, focusing on creating zero-emission ships operating in French ports. Together, they plan to deploy hydrogen refueling infrastructure in key French ports to accelerate the ecological transition in maritime and inland waterway transport. The collaboration also involves integrating hydrogen supply for HyNaval's operations to establish a sustainable and scalable zero-emission fuel network. Both companies are optimistic about significantly reducing CO₂ emissions through this partnership. With a global vision for expansion, NatPower H and HyNaval aim to fast-track the production of sustainable boats and foster the adoption of hydrogen in the maritime sector. The agreement is set to boost the transition to a zero-emission maritime future and is committed to promoting hydrogen as a concrete alternative for sustainable maritime mobility until at least December 2030, with the potential for renewal.
