A government contract has been signed for a groundbreaking hydrogen production facility in Bradford, United Kingdom, marking a significant step towards decarbonisation and economic growth. The contract, known as a Low Carbon Hydrogen Agreement, provides the project with government subsidies to enable the produced hydrogen to be competitively priced against fossil fuels for 15 years. The facility, situated off Bowling Back Lane, will be the largest among 11 schemes in the Government's Hydrogen Allocation Round, receiving £2 billion in funding to boost hydrogen production. The facility is set to produce up to 12.5 tonnes of hydrogen daily, capable of powering 800 buses and creating around 125 jobs. This initiative is estimated to inject £120 million into the local economy, providing a substantial economic boost to the region.
