- Utility selected Rockwell's PlantPAx Distributed Control System and software suite for scalability, flexibility, and seamless integration into existing infrastructure.
Rockwell Automation has been selected by Utility Global to provide the control and automation platform for its proprietary H2Gen systems, which feature zero-electricity hydrogen production technology. Utility aims to revolutionize industrial hydrogen production by offering systems designed for modular construction, customized performance, and seamless integration into existing assets and infrastructure. The H2Gen systems operate autonomously, producing clean and reliable hydrogen tailored to industries such as steel, mobility, chemical, refining, and oil and gas.
Parker Meeks, President and CEO at Utility, highlighted that Rockwell's automation technology will expedite the commercial deployment process. The initial application of this technology will be in Utility's Houston commercial unit, currently under commissioning, with plans for deployment in biogas applications in 2026.
Utility chose Rockwell's PlantPAx Distributed Control System along with a suite of software and network hardware, including FactoryTalk View, FactoryTalk AssetCentre, FactoryTalk Historian, and Logix Process Controllers. This selection was based on the suite's scalability from small to large commercial deployments without the need for a shift in control architecture, facilitating flexible project execution plans.
