Sumitomo Corporation, based in Tokyo, has formed a joint venture named North Sky A/S with Denmark's Skovgaard Energy to advance the production of biogas and Power to X business activities, including e-SAF. The collaboration aims to generate approximately 40 million Nm³ of biogas yearly, equivalent to the gas consumption of 20,000 Danish households, supporting Denmark's goal of supplying its gas grid entirely with biogas by 2030. By utilizing organic waste for biogas production and focusing on energy self-sufficiency, Denmark emphasizes sustainability in its energy sector. Skovgaard Energy, with its experience in renewable energy projects and partnerships in Denmark's agricultural sector, is well-positioned to contribute to this initiative. The company's focus on biogas production from livestock and its agreements for raw material supply ensure a stable resource base for the joint venture.
