The Housing & Urban Development Minister of India, Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, visited the head office of CRUT in Bhubaneswar to review urban mobility initiatives. The Minister focused on infrastructure expansion, depot construction, and technology-driven services. CRUT's Managing Director briefed him on electric bus depot development and proposed bus service expansion to additional towns. The Minister also reviewed real-time bus tracking systems and stressed revenue protection measures. He recommended KPI-based incentives for bus crew aligned with commuter feedback. Additionally, he called for refresher training for HMV drivers and behavioural training for courteous passenger interactions. The Minister emphasized digitalization initiatives and increasing digital transactions. Tech-forward interventions discussed included NCMC, digital passes, WhatsApp ticket booking, ADAS installation, and deployment of hydrogen fuel cell buses. CRUT currently operates 560 Ama Buses, including electric vehicles, across various routes.
