The UK's first hydrogen training center for gas engineers has been inaugurated at Fife College in Fife. The center aims to train more than 100 Gas Safe engineers this year to convert homes from natural gas to hydrogen as part of SGN's green hydrogen trial, H100 Fife. This project will supply green hydrogen to homes in Levenmouth through a specialized network. Engineers will receive practical training on hydrogen appliances and systems from top manufacturers like Baxi and Worcester Bosch to ensure their proficiency in installing and maintaining hydrogen technologies. The opening of this center is a significant step in the H100 Fife project, which plans to establish a comprehensive green hydrogen network for heating and cooking in hundreds of local homes. The initiative has garnered positive feedback from industry figures like Gary Smith of GMB and Simon Kilonback of SGN, highlighting the importance of upskilling workers for the transition to green energy.
