This hydrogen-powered bike aims to revolutionize two-wheelers by addressing the limitations of traditional electric bikes. Unlike lithium batteries that require time-consuming charging and have environmental impact concerns, the Boon H2 utilizes hydrogen fuel cells with small, removable cartridges for easy refueling. Each 20-gram hydrogen cartridge provides approximately 50 km of range, making it suitable for daily commutes and short day trips. To address the charging infrastructure challenge, the Boon H2 comes with a home electrolyzer, enabling users to produce hydrogen at home using water and electricity. This innovative approach not only simplifies refueling but also reduces reliance on public hydrogen stations. Despite its cutting-edge technology, the Boon H2 retains user-friendly features like Shimano components and an LCD display, providing a comfortable and familiar cycling experience. While priced at €6,000 (around $6,500), the Boon H2's self-sufficient hydrogen generation and ease of use make it a compelling option for avid riders looking for a sustainable alternative to traditional electric bikes.
