Vijayawada-based Juno Joule Green Energy has signed a memorandum of understanding with German company Select Energy GmbH to co-develop a green hydrogen and ammonia facility in Andhra Pradesh with a $1.3 billion investment. Situated near Mulapeta port, the project plans to produce 180 KTPA of green hydrogen by 2029, converted into up to one million tons of green ammonia annually for export. Construction is slated to start in 2026, meeting stringent EU RFNBO norms, and is expected to generate 5,000-6,000 jobs while fostering technology transfer and upskilling in the AP and Telangana region. The facility will feature an advanced desalination plant, use a mix of solar, wind, and hydropower for electrolysis, and have port-connected pipelines for efficient exports. The MoU was inked at the World Hydrogen Summit 2025 in Rotterdam, signifying a significant step towards sustainable energy production and international collaboration.
