ACWA Power, a prominent player in energy transition and green hydrogen, has announced strategic partnerships in Malaysia during the ASEAN-GCC Summit in Kuala Lumpur. These agreements, including MoUs and SPAs, aim to leverage Malaysia's innovative ecosystem and Saudi Arabia's energy transition expertise to support decarbonisation efforts and establish a platform for sustainable development in Southeast Asia. The collaborations focus on renewable energy, green hydrogen, and advanced water solutions, aligning with Malaysia's National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) and Saudi Vision 2030 objectives for global climate leadership. ACWA Power's CEO highlighted the significance of these partnerships in accelerating clean energy deployment, fostering technology transfer, creating job opportunities, and promoting long-term economic growth in the local community. The signed MoU with the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) targets the development of up to 12.5GW of power generation capacity by 2040 with a substantial investment value. Additionally, SPAs and HoTs with key Malaysian entities like Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and UEM Lestra focus on joint development of various energy projects to boost Malaysia's renewable energy capacity and water infrastructure. These agreements build on ACWA Power's successful track record in delivering impactful projects globally, reinforcing its commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions through strategic partnerships and cutting-edge technology.
