Acwa Power has solidified its presence in Indonesia's energy and water sectors through strategic partnerships. One such partnership involves Danantara Indonesia, focusing on renewable energy generation, gas-to-power projects, green hydrogen initiatives, and water desalination. Another significant collaboration is with PT Pertamina, an Indonesian state-owned oil and gas corporation, to work on multi-billion-dollar power generation and water desalination projects. These agreements encompass technology development for 500MW of renewable energy, green hydrogen projects, new electricity tenders, and operation and maintenance services. With a funding potential of up to $10 billion, the partnerships aim to assist Indonesia in achieving ambitious renewable energy targets of 34% by 2034 and 87% by 2060, positioning the country as a leader in clean energy. The Vice-Chairman of Acwa Power, Raad Al-Saady, emphasized the company's dedication to supporting Indonesia in its energy and water security objectives.
